Libya is one of the last unspoilt places on the Mediterranean coast. Libya has a number of UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites, ancient Roman and Greek cities, beautiful resort towns, local souks and medinas, historic mosques and hammans, gorgeous beaches and mud-brick desert architecture. The more adventurous visitor might like to try camel riding, desert driving or dune-surfing. Rural Libya is characterised by neat olive groves and lemon orchards around remote Berber settlements.
