Overview
This tour is a combination of our releasing turtle and orangutan tours. Tanjung Keluang National Park with its white sands and calm sea offers natural scenic beauty like no other. This place is a sanctuary of tranquillity. It is also home is a small conservation project to preserve and release green and hawkbill turtles.
Details
DAY 1: PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT / HOTEL – KUMAI – HOUSEBOAT. (L, D)
– The local guide from Sister Tour will meet and greet you on your arrival at Iskandar airport in Pangkalan Bun.
– Transfer to Kumai and start cruising up the Kumai and Sekonyer Rivers. Enjoy your first lunch with our traditional food on the kelotok.
– We will be cruising up the river slowly looking for the Proboscis monkeys and other wildlife along the river. On the way the animals that we might see are reptiles, birds, monkeys and wild orangutan.
– Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 2: HOUSEBOAT – CAMP LEAKEY – PONDOK AMBUNG – HOUSEBOAT. (B, L, D)
– After breakfast, we are heading slowly upriver to the legendary Leakey Camp. You can enjoy more views of the river back waters. If you’re lucky enough, you might see orangutan at the riverbank, various birds (stork billed kingfisher is quite common here), and false gharial crocodiles.
– On arrival in Leakey Camp, walk up to the camp on the boardwalks to see the Orangutan Information Centre. Continue the tour to see the orangutan feeding at 2 pm – enjoy your time here at leisure as feeding continues till 4 pm.
– Walk back to the boat. We will moor the boat at Pondok Ambung Tropical Forest Research Station for a night walk (optional). You may find nocturnal primates or wild cats at night in the jungle.
– Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 3: HOUSEBOAT – PONDOK TANGGUI CAMP – SEKONYER RIVER VILLAGE – TANJUNG HARAPAN – HOUSEBOAT. (B, L, D)
– After breakfast travel downstream on the Sekonyer River and stop at Pondok Tangguy Camp to see Orangutan at 9 am. Enjoy time with the orangutan feeding until 10 am.
– Afterwards walk back to the boat and head to Sekonyer River Village where local daily activities are scheduled. Lunch on board.
– Cross the river to witness an Orangutan feeding in Tanjung Harapan Camp at 3 pm.
– Back to the boat and look for more Proboscis monkeys in trees on the riverbanks.
– Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 4 : HOUSEBOAT – TANJUNG KELUANG BEACH – HOUSEBOAT. (B, L, D)
– Enjoy the morning view of the river and the sounds of the animals in the forest, like wild gibbon and various species of birds chirping in the morning.
– Drifting down the Sekonyer River to Kumai River. Then, continue to Tanjung Keluang Beach.
– Tanjung Keluang is a nature park that has a turtle sanctuary. Here we could release baby turtles back to their natural habitat. Lunch on board.
– Enjoy our activities at the beach, like fishing, tanning and walking along the beach.
– Watch the beautiful sunset from the beach.
– Dinner and overnight on board.
DAY 5 : HOUSEBOAT – KUMAI – PANGKALAN BUN AIRPORT. (B)
– Breakfast on board.
– Boating to Kumai town and then Pangkalan Bun airport or hotel
– Tour end and thank you for do the tour

Local government has BANNED the sale of any alcoholic beverages in recent years due to many accidents and problems.
INTERNET AND PHONE COVERAGE:
There is NO Internet and Phone Coverage in most of the Tanjung Putting National Park Area although Wi-Fi may be available in major towns.
WEATHER:
Because if its proximity to the equator, Kalimantan has a tropical climate. Generally the weather is hot and humid (28-33 degree celcius) during the day, and wet in the evening.
